During the 2024 election campaign, AI-generated images of candidates like Donald Trump and Kamala Harris circulated on X, with some created by the Grok-2 model. One of the most concerning was an image falsely showing ISIS terrorists endorsing Trump—a disturbing example of how generative AI can be weaponized to spread damaging misinformation. Our detector flagged this image with very strong evidence of manipulation and a high potential for viral spread, underscoring the risk of such content influencing public opinion and fueling divisive narratives.
